Pendidikan Manajemen Organisasi


Pendidikan Manajemen Organisasi (P.M.O) or in English, Educational Organisation Management took place for Two days on 05 – 06 October 2012 at the Auditorium of Sahid Institute of Tourism, which was followed by the representatives of himpunan mahasiswa(HIMA)/student Association of each sub-campus of Sahid Institute of Tourism, 3 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Apresiasi Seni dan Bakat (ASB), 3 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Sahid Tourism Basketball,  3 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Forum Keislaman (FORKIS), 5 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Rohani Kristen (ROKHRIS), 4 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Mahasiswa/I Akpar Sahid Pecinta Alam(WAKASPALA), 6 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Solidaritas Mahasiswa (SOSMA), 5 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Sahid Tourism Riders Community (STIR.COM),  3 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Sahid Food Production (SFP), 4 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Sahid Tourism Football Club (STFC), 1 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Taekwondo Tourism Club (TTC) and 3 representatives from student activities unit (UKM) of Sahid Bartending Club (SBC).

PMO is the training for each organisations at Sahid Institute of Tourism of the development and rapid changes in the socio-economic, science and technology, politics, the environment, customers, and employees requires which every organisation must learn in order to survive, grow, collaborate and compete. In this training, it discusses systemically what and why every organisation needs to develop themselves by learning faster, more advanced, more functional, more productive, less costly and more effective, how each organisation is able to face the challenges of a rapidly changing environment. Specifically discussed how to apply the principles of operational management and organization in managing educational institutions so as to produce quality human resources and meet the expectations and needs of the community. The discussion is not only conceptual, but also contextually to choose from a variety of cases relating to the management of education in Indonesia.

The purpose of this training is that students are able to:
1. Following the development of the environment and their impact on the organization.
2. Understanding the dynamics of learning in an intelligent organisation.
3. Affirming the need for change in the organization (organisational change)
4. Understanding the operational management theory.
5. Taking lessons from the case of reforms in education.
6. Assessing the role of operations management in the governance and development of educational organisations.
7. Formulate strategies for developing educational organisations by applying the theory of organisational learning and operational management.

-          Teddy “Lemboy”Andi Tama, Amd.Par for sharing the material of ‘Ethics and Public Speaking.’
-          Panji Ukoro for sharing the material of ‘Leadership and Motivation.'



Also, a special thanks to 3 of the Darmasiswa students of Sahid Insitute of Tourism 2012: Rodrigo Silva from Chile, Erin Kammerer from USA and Amandine from France for kindly filling up the speakers and participants grumbling tummy with the delicious and unforgettable snacks during the two days!

Anggota Muda Eksekutif is a set of students who are under BEM which represents the interests of all the young members of the institution, working to ensure that a young member's voice is heard and considered in all areas of the institution. Table Manner At Mercure Hotel, Jakarta



 
Understanding the rules of etiquette at the dinner table alias table manner is part of the standard knowledge of everyone. Yet many trinkets that distinguish the system table manner, according to the customs of each country.

There is no getting away from the need for a good table manners, and knowing how to act at a dinner table is going to make your job of being a guest or gracious host a lot easier and more enjoyable - not to mention the favourable impression you'll make on others.

Related to the Table Manner and industrial orientation on Thursday 27th September 2012, BEM & LED accompanied Students of 2012 at Sahid Institute of Tourism to successfully participate in the Table Manner event at Mercure Hotel, Jakarta numbered to 490 participations including 10 Darmasiswa students.

The implementations of table manner were divided into two shifts, namely:

1. Shift 1: held at 9:00 to 12:00 for Campus 1, Campus 4, Campus 5 and D1 Program from Campus 2
2. Shift 2: held at 12:00 to 15:00 for Campus 2 and Campus 3.

The day started by listening to short speech given by the manager of Mercure Hotel, Mr Kusmayadi Husein (Chairman of Sahid Institute of Tourism) and Budi Setiawan,AMd.Par, SE (Vice Chairman of Sahid Institute of Tourism) followed by a short presentation of Mercure Hotel by a member of its staff and finally a presentation of Table Manner.
The basic rules of etiquette at the dinner table are composed of 3 major, i.e: first is before eating, the second is the procedures of using eating utensils and the third is in progress while eating. The participants were to dress up in a Formal dress for the ladies and a suite for the men. The activity was followed by a tour around Mercure Hotel. What an enjoyable event this had been for the student'12 of Sahid Institute of Tourism!

ORDIK 2012 -Day 6-



" CHARACTER BUILDING AND INAUGURATION "


Hari ke-enam dalam orientasi pendidikan merupakan hari yang paling. Paling disini menginterpretasikan hal paling panjang masanya, paling heboh, paling asyik, paling enjoy dan yang tidak ketinggalan adalah paling seru. Karena kegiatan ini dilalui bersama dan diawali dengan bersenang-senang bersama lalu merasakan intropeksi diri yang dalam mengenai meraih masa depan yang cerah.
Pada hari keenam, kelonggaran dalam peraturan mulai dirasakan oleh para peserta. Para mentor pun menjadi fasilitator dan bertujuan melakukan pendekatan lebih untuk adik-adiknya. Segala suka dan duka dilewati bersama di setiap kelompok dan semua peserta.
Kegiatan hari keenam tepatnya Sabtu, 15 September 2012, di awali dengan kegiatan olahraga dan sarapan pagi setelah itu mereka melepas semua atribut mereka untuk bermain outbond. Berbagai macam kegiatan outbond yang dilakukan para peserta. Kegiatan dilakukan di indoor maupun di outdoor. Di sepanjang kegiatan outbond indoor maupun outdoor, fasilitator atau mentor selalu bersama dengan kelompoknya. Fasilitator dan para peserta sangat menikmati kegiatan outbond tersebut.
Salah satu dari kegiatan the best outbond yaitu bermain dengan sedotan plastik. Permainan itu didasari dengan kekompakan para kelompok. Bagaimana caranya agar sedotan plastik yang berjumlah setengah dari satu bungkus besar, membuat bangunan yang indah, kokoh dan tinggi. Permainan tersebut diberi waktu selama satu jam. Dan peralatan yang mendukung hanya solatip, gunting atau peralatan pendukung lainnya tidak di sediakan. Bagaimana peserta berkreatif, bergerak cepat serta bekerja sama untuk dapat mencapai hasil yang disyaratkan.
Kegiatan selanjutnya pada sore hari diisi dengan tema berbagi rasa. Kegiatan tersebut akan dipandu oleh fasilitator dimasing-masing kelompok. Kegiatan tersebut akan mengungkapkan dan berbagi rasa mengenai sebuah “ketakutan” dalam hal apapun. Setiap kelompok diberi waktu satu jam dan mencari tempat yang sesuai untuk berbagi. Pendekatan sukses untuk fasilitator terhadap kelompoknya didasari dari kegiatan berbagi rasa ini. Hal ini bertujuan untuk melihat seberapa respect yang ditimbulkan pada setiap kelompok.
Waktu berlarut dan berubah menjadi malam, kegiatan selanjutnya para peserta harus mengisi self documentation yang akan dipandu oleh fasilitator setiap masing-masing kelompok. Ini merupakan tahap pendekatan kedua yang lebih jauh untuk para fasilitator kepada kelompoknya. Para peserta mengisi dokumen tersebut ditemani lilin yang berjumlah kelompok tersebut bersama teman-teman satu kelompok yang duduk dengan bentuk melingkar. Dokumen tersebut berisi tentang pribadi mereka lebih dalam, keluh kesah, permohonan maaf juga surat cinta untuk kedua orang tua serta cara mengintropeksi diri mereka untuk mendapatkan masa depan yang cerah. Seduhan dan air mata pun terdengar jelas di keheningan malam dan udara dingin yang menusuk kulit.
Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan closing ceremony yang diresmikan oleh Ketua STP Sahid, Ir. Kusmayadi Husein. Ketua STP Sahid menyalakan api unggun dengan obor dan penyematan alamamater bagi peserta ordik 2012. Hal tersebut sebagai simbolis bahwa orientasi pendidikan telah sukses dilaksanakan dan juga sebagai pelantikan mahasiswa/i baru STP Sahid.
Kegiatan selanjutnya diadakannya free party, yaitu kegiatan bebas dalam pertunjukan seni dan bakat. Kegiatan tersebut berlangsung hingga pagi keesokan harinya. Para peserta dan panita pun menginap di auditorium STP Sahid.

BAKTI SOSIAL
 
Bakti sosial merupakan hari terahir yang tercatat dalam konsep acara orientasi pendidikan. Kegiatan baksos ini bertujuan untuk saling berbagi rasa terhadap warga pondok cabe. Ide ini terlahir dari jiwa sosial mahasiswa STP Sahid yang melihat kondisi masyarak sekitar kampus.
Kegiatan ini melibatkan semua panitia orientasi pendidikan dan peserta ordik 2012. Bakti sosial yang di distribusikan merupakan bahan sembako seperti beras, gula, sarden, mie instan dan susu kental manis.
Bahan-bahan tersebut di dapatkan dengan cara para peserta ordik membawa bahan-bahan yang setiap harinya telah ditentukan oleh panitia.  Setiap hari dalam jangka waktu enam hari, setiap peserta wajib membawa beras untuk hari pertama ordik. Hari selanjutnya berurut yaitu mie instan, satu kaleng sarden dan terakhir susu kental manis.
Pada hari keenam ordik tepatnya Sabtu, 15 September 2012, baksos sudah disimbolkan bersamaan dengan panitia dan perwakilan dari Rukun tangga dan Rukun Warga sekitar Pondok Cabe. Pada hari ketujuah ordik tepatnya Minggu, 16 September 2012, dilanjutkan pelaksanaan baksos yang dimeriahkan oleh warga pondok cabe yang datang silih berganti ke tempat Sekretariat Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa STP Sahid.
Baksos yang di sumbangkan pada hari ketujuh berkisar 200 sembako yang didistribusikan kepada warga Pondok Cabe. Dan baksos yang berupa materi riil yaitu uang sejumlah Rp. 2.000 dan Rp.5.000 per peserta didonasikan kepada panti asuhan sekitar Pondok Cabe.
Baksos berupa uang tersebut merupakan simbolis atribut orientasi pendidikan 2012. Dimana uang tersebut di lapisi dengan plastik lalu di lipat bentuk kebudayaannya dan di tempelkan di selempang. Para peserta wajib untuk menggunakan selempang tersebut. Selempang tersebut tidak hanya menginterpretasikan kebudayaan Indonesia tetapi juga jiwa sosial yang ditingkatkan kepada para peserta ordik untuk berbagi rasa dalam acara Bakti Sosial ke panti asuhan.

ORDIK 2012 -Day 4 & Day 5-



Thursday 13th September 2012 – Friday 14th September 2012


During the two days on 13th – 14th September 2012, the concept was Industrial Orientation. The mechanism of industrial orientation activities is all participants of ORDIK divided into two groups: Indoor & Outdoor, given the limited capacity of the practice room. Then the two groups are to switch the next day; Indoor Group switch to Outdoor activities and vice-verse. The aim was so that the new students of 2012 will experience and acknowledge what they will be doing once they have started their studies and what it will be like in work-life after graduating. 
Since this year’s number of students increased incredibly, the group were divided into two: Indoor and Outdoor activities. Group 1 to Group 14 was put into Indoor activities and Group 15 – Group 24 into Outdoor activities.
As routine, the day starts at 5am, checking the students grooming and attributes followed by a morning exercise.
For the groups who were assigned to Indoor activities, they were debriefed about: “How To Face An Interview” spoken by Mr Hady Chandra Kurniawan S.ST, and by Cepi Burhanuddin on Friday followed by “G.R.E.A.T.S (Greeting, Respect, Empathy, Attitude, Touch with Smile)” by Ganang Aditiyo Prakoso, “Public Speaking” by Mr Lulus Sugiharto, and by Teddy “Lemboy” on Friday, followed by Credit of Participation & Career Motivation spoken by Mr Budi Setiawan AMD Par,MM and finally a debrief of House-keeping & Front Office and Guiding by Mirfa Yun Huda & Aulia Nurwicaksono.

As for the ORDIK participate of outdoor activities, it was divided into 4 shifts:

Shift 1:
1a : kitchen           1b : service           1c : house-keeping           1d : FO & guiding

Shift 2:
1a : FO & guiding           1b : kitchen           1c : service           1d : housekeeping

Shift 3:
1a : house-keeping           1b : fo & guiding          1c : kitchen           1d : service

Shift 4:
1a : house-keeping           1b : fo & guiding           1c : kitchen           1d : service

The aim of the outdoor activities is to introduce the courses of each division they will be learning at campus. The practical activities will help the ORDIK participants experience and become more familiar with each tourism department.
