ASEAN Cultural Festival, Purwakarta 2013

  A spectacular event was organized to celebrate the Anniversary of the Purwakarta Regency on July 20. From year to year, under the leadership of Purwakarta regency H.Dedi Mulyadi, SH often hold cultural festival to welcome Purwakarta.

In order to introduce Purwakarta, participants of the ASEAN Cultural Festival 2013 were invited by Purwakarta Regent, Mr Dedi Mulyadi to participate in the Fun Bike event cycling together around Purwakarta City on Friday (28/6).
Fun Bike activity itself was followed by approximately 135 foreign nationals from nine ASEAN countries, namely the Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, including Indonesia.
Directed by Purwakarta’s Regent, Mr Dedi Mulyadi himself, the Fun Bike started from Purwakarta Regency Hall courtyard cycled along Sudirman Street to Singadilaga street and back to the Purwakarta Regency Hall.
In addition to cycling around the town of Purwakarta, the participants were invited to visit tourist areas in Purwakarta, including Dam Ir. H. Juanda (Jatilahur) and Situ Wanayasa; besides that they also seemed to enjoy Purwakarta’s traditional culinary at the Dinner with Purwakarta’s Regent, Mr Dedi Mulyadi.

Students from Beasiswa Unggulan (Scholarship) Program of Sahid Institute of Tourism (Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Sahid) under Media Indonesia and Metro TV as the Liaison Officer of the 9 ASEAN Countries, in cooperation of Purwakarta’s local government for the outstanding ASEAN Cultural Festival 2013 which took place in Purwakarta on Saturday, June 29, 2013; at 19:00 p.m. to 22:00 pm, with its theme “Kemilau Cahaya Purwakarta Istimewa “roughly translated in English “the Glimpse of The Special Purwakarta’s Light.”

ASEAN Cultural Festival took the concept of street carnival (carnival along the road / rally) which was attended by 9 (Nine) Cultural Delegation ASEAN countries. But was also enlivened by the appearance of Mr Dedi Mulyadi on a horseback, followed by a convoy of 10 (ten) representation of provinces in Indonesia, 10 (ten) representative districts / cities in West Java, cavalry, and was no less festive parade of 50,000 (fifty thousand) lanterns to break MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) which was composed of employees of regional organizations (OPD), the Neighbourhood (RT) and Pillars of Citizens (RW), a village of Purwakarta, company and state-owned enterprises and the traditional culture of the nine countries of Southeast Asia.
