ORDIK 2012 -Day 2-
Tuesday,
11th September 2012
Second day of ORDIK’s motto was “Orientation of Organizations.” All
students of 2012/2013 at Sahid Institute of Tourism started their day at 5am with their liveliness
energy to get their grooming and attributes checked
at the check-point post followed by a daily morning exercise around the campus
and of course breakfast that was referred on BEM’s website helping them to be
able to get used to the online-system when they start their studies.
Their
outfit were to wear training pants, sneakers, red and white socks and arm-cover
and their attributes were to make a square bag from cardboard box, paint it red
and white with “LUGGAGE” at one side and “SHOOTER” on the other and it will be
the bag they will carry their belonging during the one week event. A red sash
around the body side-ways with the given name of tourism area and an
ugliest-self photo attached at the end of the red sash with their complete
name. A red and white hat from paper showing Hotel equipment’s which cannot be
similar to the fellow members within the groups (for those majoring in Hotel)
or a tourist destination and must be able to explain the reason of choosing so
(for those majoring in Travel Tourism.) They are also required to bring the
daily BAKSOS (bakti social or in
English: Charity) which is collected and stored for later event.
Afterwards, still locating at the auditorium, Oriflame stepped in
to perform a beauty demo including a Q&A session for an hour taking one new
student as their model. As Sahid is Tourism Institute, basic make-up techniques
is compulsory to know as it is part of grooming. Later on, there was a motivational talk by Mr Lulus Sugiharto, Amd, Graft; followed by a "Career Motivational" Talk-Show by Alumni of Sahid Institute of Tourism such as Mr Bayu Aprianto, S.ST Par (Accor head office, Jakarta as a Distributor and revenue analysis), Panji Unkoro (Worked in Bedi Corporation as a marketing communication)
and Nadia Handini (Chef entertain) then Panji Ukoro motivated the students of
2012 about Respect after an ice-breaking to refresh their minds.
Lastly, all 24 mentors debriefed their individual groups for the
preparation of the next day, discussing today’s activities and help motivating
them to keep up their great liveliness energy during ORDIK week.
Overall, today was successful as the day’s motto was “Orientation
Organization,” the activities helped students of 2012/2013 realize about this
topic and relate it to real life situation!
